Fresh Baked Goods at Duo Patisserie & Cafe

Duo Patisserie & Cafe opened last fall- as the name implies, they offer a wide selection of delicious pastries!  Over the past year, this cafe has quickly become one the local favourites (also one of my favourites too)!  We have seen the little shop grow in popularity and it has become nearly impossible to snag a table in their seating area during the weekends.  However, on this rare occasion, we were able to find a seat..

Typically, we just purchase their pastries for home to avoid the crowd and to save time, but eating in is also very enjoyable.  Their interior is very clean and modern and you can also peak into their kitchen in the back.

Afternoon Snacking at Wooffles & Cream

Post about our recent visit to Wooffles & Cream!  We ventured out there last weekend before meeting up with some friends for dinner.  After someone showed me pictures of the egg waffles + soft serve combo- I simply could not resist the temptation to visit and try it for myself!  Egg waffles are pretty much the one thing I get every time I go to Pacific Mall and I have very seriously contemplated picking up a waffle maker of my own..

The storefront is located inside the New Kennedy Square plaza food court and it is visibly more modern than the other shops there.  We actually missed the storefront initially and wandered around the mall before finally spotting the store right where we entered the mall.  The rest of the plaza looks more or less the same as we remember from our childhood, missing a jungle gym and perhaps a little more run down than before.  Naturally, there have been many changes to the owners and products sold over the years.

Despite dinner only being an hour or two away, we decided to order one wooffle each (yes, two wooffles!).  We didn't get a chance to chat with the owners as they looked quite busy that day. However, they were very nice and told us that the wait time for our wooffles would be 10-15 minutes.
